Product Design and Development
Our core product is PECOS (Process Equipment Control System). PECOS is a command and control
software environment that has been in operation in classified federal government facilities, providing
security for nuclear weapons for over 10 years. It is a very mature and robust environment with
interfaces to security, CCTV, HVAC, fire alarm, building controls, voice, data and video networks.
Our association with these clients and their continued need for new features and enhancements ensures
that the products we offer in the private, commercial, and law enforcement sectors will always be
state-of-the-art.
Product Description
The security and control industries are going through unprecedented
rapid change. Although controls for electronic and security systems are
in demand, the industry is still very fragmented. Manufacturers
distinguish themselves by vertical market applications (security,
building controls, video, fire, voice and data networks).
Product Overview
The Hummingbird PECOS command and control environment is a network of
servers (controlling conventional sensors, mechanical, electrical, and
video devices, etc.) tied together by a unique network application and
monitored using the latest state-of-the-art software. With the touch of
a console monitor screen, the operator controls the software and,
consequently, the functions of all devices. The software system has
been designed so that the operator can easily monitor all devices on
the same computer screen in real-time. Keyboards are not required. The
picture for a complete facility can be mentally integrated and assessed
quickly because the entire presentation is graphic.

Each of the systems displays the results clearly so that the operator
can take immediate action. The Hummingbird PECOS products are unique
and effective, because their generic components require little
tailoring for a specific application. The generic components are
adapted to each client's applications by the Hummingbird PECOS software
interpreting the custom graphic icons assigned to each component.
Tailoring to a specific application is done by making graphics, not by
programming databases.
The use of command and control devices is widespread in areas
including, but not limited to, schools, office buildings, hotels,
casinos, hospitals, shopping centers, airports, museums, laboratories,
government buildings, embassies, industrial facilities, power plants,
manufacturing facilities, etc.
